Said the following about York Holgate Depot:

“Holgate depot has undergone and been subjected to significant change over the years, most recently following the alignment of the Contracts & Procurement and National Delivery Service functions of Network Rail in June 2014 to form the National Supply Chain function. Network Rail’s ownership of Holgate has facilitated its development, with both the facility and team becoming recognised as an integral part of the rail vehicle maintenance industry.

Building on an established capability, new team members have been introduced to strengthen and support Holgate’s future aspirations, to continually improve both safety and service delivery. Production volumes and the quality of the outputs have already started to improve, seeing an increase of project and overhaul schemes completed to time and under budget, utilising all of the current resources to provide cost effective traction and rolling stock solutions; effectively delivering more work with minimal resource increase to the same high safety standards.

As a direct result of the Team delivering a succession of project and overhaul schemes Holgate has now been given an opportunity that sees the Team deliver a planned programme of works that will facilitate Network Rail's business aims for the remainder of the current control period and beyond into CP6.

The Holgate Team also provide support to external industry colleagues; who like the Holgate Team have, over the last 12 months, improved their production activities for Network Rail. The whole Team have enabled successful solutions to promote collaborative working – working both efficiently and effectively to ensure that safety performance on site remains the number one priority whilst at the same time ensuring that service level performance continues to improve.“
