Said the following about Susan Wren:

“It's not just people on site or projects that have been Covid Heroes. One particular lady at the CRSA's Doncaster depot has been monumental in keeping people safe inside the office and out.

Susan Wren has been instrumental and has played a massive part in organising the Doncaster depot where almost 200 people work. Sue has been relentless in the running of the depot by always ensuring hand sanitiser, wipes, sanitisation stations, floor stickers and desk screens are available to all employees and everything is set up correctly.

Getting desk screens installed wasn't easy logistically - planning space, organising everyone in the office and moving them around safely to fit everyone in but keep them apart. Many people still have to go into the depot to do their jobs so for a lot of people working from home wasn't/isn't an option.

She also supports the whole team in ensuring site staff have the sanitisation materials out on jobs and goes around the whole depot with the sanitiser refill bottle so that people can refill up their own individual little bottles of sanitiser that Sue procured and ordered to ensure everyone has their own supply on them at all times.

Sue has made sure there are QR codes all around the depot to swipe in at the depot for the NHS tracker, organised the taking of peoples' temperatures until they got the auto system installed which she actually also helped to organise and has been tracking people's attendance to make sure they are okay, whether they need to isolate, shield or need extra support.

As well as all this extra work on top of her day job, she has been ringing around hotels to check if they are open/serving food for our teams staying over because as everyone knows in the railway, operations and jobs have not stopped and to reduce fatigue and travel, our employees have still had to work on sites sometimes far away. Sue out the goodness of her heart has been checking they will have access to shelter and food/water while they are away working on the railway.

Sue is a true hero and not complained once about all the extra work and responsibility that she has willingly taken on.“
