Said the following about Southern Operational Response Team:

“In May 2023, the brand new Southern Operational Response team was formed from a small group of Driver Competency Development Managers to be based in the GTR/NR joint Rail Operations Centre at Three Bridges. The team's challenge was to improve the speed and consistency that operating incidents could be tackled across the network to improve safety performance, prevent delays and develop the working partnership between Operations, Fleet and Network Rail. Both ROC-based and mobile, the Operational Incident Managers are our driver-competent managers and provide expertise on the scene, wherever needed. They can authorise fast decisions that keep the railway running and safety prioritised, and provide first response support to train crew. Incidents that took days to fully investigate and evidence are normally now completed within a few hours at most. The OR team have worked exceptionally hard to establish a reputation for competence and reliability, earning widespread acclaim from control-based GTR and Network Rail colleagues. In consequence, performance delays due to operating incidents on GTR have fallen significantly whilst investigations and safety assurance for drivers are being completed from the ROC.“
