Kate Stafford

Said the following about Simone Carter:

“I believe Simone thoroughly deserves to be recognised for her contribution to charity. Simone is clearly a much loved and well-known member of staff and has imaginatively found a way to engage George the cat at the ticket office with the public and customers at the station and on social media. As a result, George is the face of fundraising activities and products to raise much needed funds for important charities in his local area such as West Midlands Stray Cat Rescue and Birmingham Children's Hospital. His appeal promoted by Simone is so wide reaching that people like me have been to visit the station at Stourbridge Junction. It was a real pleasure to meet the staff and George. They also helped to promote a charity local to me as well. The social media posts each day are inspiring and meeting staff at the ticket office is a real pleasure.“

Debbie Wale

Said the following about Simone Carter:

“This lady looks after the famous George Stourbridge train station cat. George and Simone not only help and raise money for charities, but also the words that are written daily to help people who are struggling with life, depression ect

She works hard and deserve some praise for all the work she does.“

Ellie Merrett

Said the following about Simone Carter:

“Simone but known to all through George’s Facebook page as the FC is an amazing lady

Through George’s page, Simone got calendars done of George & the proceeds go to the Samaritans

Simone is a very kind lady who gives her time & energy to helping people & there are also cat charities that have benefited from George’s merchandise but it’s always been the FC that has made it happen

The FC really deserves this charity award as while running Stourbridge station she always finds time to the extra mile for charities“
