“Iain Perry has a passion for running but also has a passion for helping others. When not carrying out his day job as a Rail Enforcement Officer for GTR Iain puts in the miles. This also has an infectious impact on his work colleagues with some joining him in recent events. In 2021 Iain undertook the Brighton Marathon with teammates for MIND raising £1570. Again in 2022 another £1611 was raised at Brighton. These were bolstered by Iain actively fundraising with raffles and scratch cards to boost the funds. A fantastic effort.
In January Iain ran the London Landmarks Half Marathon raising a further £1433 for Great Ormond Street. But it does not stop there. This year is also the ’12 in Twelve Months’ challenge. Iain will complete a half Marathon every month of the year raising funds for the Children’s Air Ambulance, with the aim of reaching a £2023 target. Having completed number 8 and with £867 in the pot the final leg of the mammoth task is in sight. Again, Iain will call on colleagues to support and even join in with the planned finale in December. A 15 mile course incorporating the London Mainline stations. His drive and commitment are a true indication of his character and his desire to continue to help others is commendable.“
