“The building of Reading Station was a huge success in many areas from design, management and implementation, whilst keeping the station fully operational. This in itself is a major feat and his ability to produce the outcome is very impressive. He had a great team to work with and between them they produced a great product, which I use every day.
I speak with numerous members of the public who like to tell me (unbeknown to them I work for NR) that Reading was very, very well done. They were impressed with how the work was done on such a massive scale without too much disruption.
Reading Station has been up for numerous awards.
Shaun's knowledge in all areas and his ability to give responses for solutions is almost unbeatable. He has a great sense of humour and positive outlook. As a line manager, I was impressed with his support and back up.
Shaun is not just an Engineer, he is a Railway man. He is passionate about his work. He has served the company for 37 years in different areas of the country on major projects and he has built up his keen knowledge over those years.
This is just a small version what I believe he is and so I recommend he be nominated for the award.“
