Said the following about Robert Hickey:

“Rob Hickey lead the High Output Transition project team and was appointed to manage all aspects of the insourcing 503 individuals from two organisation into Network Rail. Rob was responsible to co-ordinating and overseeing all aspects of the transfer including but not limited to – the renegotiation of lease agreements implementation of the IT Infrastructure for the transferees, the seamless transfer from the Amey and Colas into Network Rail and ensuring that the employee and customer safety was not put in at risk.

The majority of the inscope to transfer individuals had been caught up by TUPE legislation on a number of previous occasions resulting in a highly complex terms and conditions structure due to terms and conditions being protected under TUPE regulations.

Rob co-ordinated the team to draw on expert knowledge and requested support from a number of areas outside of the project team to enable successful delivery of all aspects of the project.

Examples of the teams delivery under Rob's stewardship include:-

• Safety - oversaw all aspect of the safety regulations to make sure all elements met to mitigate the risk of the transfer on public and employee safety

• Delivery of Induction and Mobilisation Roadshows to the inscope individuals, introducing Network Rail as an employer and covered policies and procedures. Expert support was provided by the Pension, Safety, Competence and Procurement teams.

• Payroll build – due to the complexity and the number of different terms and conditions amongst the transferring population, without the work undertaken by the payroll team, World Line (external organisation), payroll and the project team, the individuals would not have been paid correctly.

• National Supply Chain procurement teams collaboration with EuroCar to deliver new company vehicles to all eligible transfers which required meticulous planning and co-ordination.

In all, without the leadership from Rob to a large team we would not have achieved the successful transfer of 503 employees without impact on our customers, the transfer was so smooth that it went unnoticed by the general public.“
