Said the following about Peter Maybury:

“Peter Maybury has been an integral part of the development and success of the Freightliner Group since its privatisation in 1996. He joined Freightliner in 1997, after working for the Ford Motor Company for over 20 years.

Peter’s initial role at Freightliner was to establish a port-based, customer-facing commercial organisation. He subsequently became Commercial Director for the Intermodal business before becoming Managing Director in 2005. Soon after the sale of the business to Arcapita, Peter was appointed to the position of Freightliner Group CEO in 2009. Since his retirement as CEO in 2013, Peter has provided guidance and strong support to the Freightliner Group executive team through his position as Chairman. He has also made a highly valuable contribution to the rail freight industry, and the railway more widely, through his position as Chairman of the Rail Delivery Group (RDG) Freight Group and he has been influential in promoting rail freight across the UK. His work and leadership in this area has seen the freight sector work together to make the case for freight on rail, setting out the sector’s importance to the economy and its benefits to the environment.

His commitment to Freightliner and the wider rail freight industry is highly respected and he has had a hugely successful career with significant and lasting contributions to the rail industry.

Peter Maybury announced his retirement as Chairman of Freightliner Group in June 2015 after 18 years with the company. He will be missed and we wish him all the best for a very happy and well-earned retirement.“
