The RailStaff Awards 2024

Nominations for Lifetime Achievement

Lorraine Large

Said the following about Doug Royle:

“Doug has been working on the railway for over 50 years. He is currently based at Lostock Parkway but is due to retire on the 18th July 2015. To have worked for a company for this long is a massive achievement and deserves recognition. I have only worked with Doug for the last 7 years and what a true gentleman he is and I have to add a bit of a character too, with his charm and personality. He will be very sadly missed by staff and customers alike, known as "our main man" life at Lostock will not be the same without him.“

Dave Morgan

“Doug is retiring after 50 years on the railway which I think is an amazing achievement. When I joined nearly 10 years ago Doug helped to train me, he was always very calm and professional.“
