Said the following about Peter Archibald:

“Peter is very much a hands-on manager, where he has identified skills gaps he makes every effort to address this with his team members, this has certainly helped me grow in the last two years under his guidance.

He is quick to provide praise when things are done well and provides praise that builds confidence in individuals to perform even better in future tasks being undertaken. Peter will also encourage when new areas of learning may appear, he will guide his team through using his experience whilst allowing them to develop new skills encouraging team members to utilise the skills picked up.

Peter is a big advocate of colleagues learning both in and out of the workplace via apprenticeships and other opportunities that may help colleagues grow. Peter will back this up by checking on progress and seeking information on the programs and skills that are being developed while individuals are taking advantage of these opportunities, looking to see how he may be able to share the learning opportunity with other team members. He is also quick to share skills with team members that he has learned over the many years he has been working within the railway environment.

In my railway career, I look to continuously develop and Peter has been a great support to me in doing so, actively encouraging my development.“
