“I would like to nominate my manager Paul Connell for the Rail Manager of the Year because he is the best manager I have met during my 11 years working for the railway.
Paul works as the Financial Planning and Analysis manager in the Finance Department for Greater Anglia. I do not think that the Finance department of Greater Anglia would be able to function without Paul and his amazing skills. Paul can create complex Excel models in no time that are very accurate, easy to use and make everyone else's lives much easier. Without Paul's knowledge of the business and superb Excel and modelling skills, it would be very difficult for our Finance department and other departments to do our jobs. In addition to this, Paul has a very warm personality. He constantly encourages and inspires everyone to do their best at work. Paul is very passionate about the railway and manages to find time to volunteer at our stations during disruptions to help our customers.
With all the challenges that Greater Anglia is facing in the new franchise (such as the introduction of the new fleet), I do not think it would be possible for our company to do our best without Paul.“
