Said the following about Northern Rails Working Together (Inclusion) Team:

“The reason I'd like to nominate the Working Together (Inclusion ) Team is because,The working together (inclusion) ambassadors promote Northern as a local service provider in the communities we serve and promote inclusivity within the workplace. They are role models who attend events such as Pride festivals, MELA festivals, schools, colleges and community centres and promote the variety of careers that Northern has to offer and all careers are open to everyone and we are all passionate about our inclusive employer status.

Internally they have come up against some resistance culturally however this has not deterred them and they continue to go round the network promoting the business benefits of an inclusive workforce and supported World Aids day, temple visit, careers on track events, health roadshows and the working together charter. Through their commitment to inclusion Northern are the first rail company to achieve the investors in people accreditation.

They Work with 4 main principles.

“These are a really community orientated group of people. George House Trust supports people living with, or affected by HIV - the North West and particularly Manchester has the highest rate of people living with HIV outside of London.

The Working Together Inclusion Team are great at giving George House Trust opportunities to fundraise, but more importantly awareness raise with the public. They are a pleasure to work with and the dedication from their team, in providing opportunities for local communities to work together with Northern Rail in creative ways is exemplary.“
