Said the following about Mohammed Hassan:

“‘A year into his railway career, Mohammed’s thirst for learning and what he has achieved is incredible! He really does go above and beyond, both in the time and effort – including working overtime to complete work, is interested in everything we do, great at problem solving and takes on all feedback, it is very refreshing.’ – Chris Leeming – E&P assistant Delivery Engineer

Finishing school at 18 with the opportunity to study pharmaceutical, whilst contemplating his future, which included investing in his education by going to university or saving money to buy a house, Mohammed decided to go college, studying levels 2 and 3 in ‘Electrical Installation, Building and Structures’ to learn a trade that he could apply to a number of industries. Mohammed also decided to take the necessary exams in electrical testing, which was very forward thinking a massive achievement as such a young age.

Finishing his course, Mohammed knew that to further his career, he needed practical experience and joined Linbrooke a year ago to undertake an apprenticeship.

Not knowing anything about rail, Mohammed studied for his PTS, rolled up his sleeves and got stuck in working both day and night shifts on a number of Linbrooke’s high profile projects including Manchester Piccadilly, where he helped install the wires for the passenger information screens and the cat 5 cables to enable the live information to get to the screens.

With Mohammed’s qualifications and having recognised his skill set, Linbrooke deployed Mohammed to the FTN Wales and Western batteries renewal project where he gained the TIC (tester in charge) competency and went on to become the TIC for the project. Steve Tenny, Project Engineer, said ‘Mohammed took on a lot of responsibility for such a young man and did so very well, I would happily have him on any of my projects going forward’.

Mohammed is now working on Ferriby to Gilberdyke resignalling, Linbrookes biggest project to date, working from designs and schematics to wire up DNO cabinets which are being installed on the railway.

With Mohammed’s qualifications, practical and site knowledge and experience, he has been recognised as a fantastic candidate as a trainee electrical designer and Linbrooke are both proud and excited to be supporting Mohammed in his railway career.“
