“Michalea Joseph is an Operations Manager for Amulet on c2c, she has worked as part of the c2c service delivery for over 8 years. Zach and Dan are two of Michaela's safeguarding officers.
A c2c colleague was concerned for one of their colleague’s welfare when he didn’t turn up for work after his holiday. She asked Michaela if she could go round to his house to see if he’s ok.
Michaela took two of her officers Zach and Dan to the property. When they arrived, they found a suitcase on his doorstep with the door closed and locked. They spoke to neighbours who said they hadn’t seen him since before his holiday.
The team concerned for their colleague’s welfare broke down his front door, when inside they found him collapsed on his bathroom floor, unconscious. They called the emergency services and managed to wake him, he was confused and could hardly move. They stayed with him until the emergency services arrived. The fire brigade were called to remove parts of the stairs as he had to keep flat when taking him to the ambulance because any elevation in his heart rate could become fatal. The ambulance crew confirmed that he had been there for a number of days and if it had been a few hours longer, it would have become fatal.“
