Said the following about Melanie Byrett:

“Wolverhampton Railway Station Manager Mel Bryett is an outstanding individual and role model who is absolutely committed to putting West Midlands Trains before herself. She has been and is the heart of Wolverhampton Station and is a key individual to supporting the operational output of the Station and is thoroughly deserving of official recognition.

Mel Bryett is nominated for this award for her exceptional leadership, proactive approach, and her holistic attitude as Manager of Wolverhampton. Responsible for managing the myriad of tasks of all railway related issues across the Station and collaboration with other TOCs, Councils and other transport business’, her significant impact on the reputation of West Midland Trains (WMT) has enhanced the growth of the Station. Specifically, she has worked hard over the past 12 months to ensure her new Customer Experience Managers (CEMs) have gained a reputation for their professionalism and under her charge they have developed excellent working relationships with other TOCs and the wider WMT footprint.

Mel has always been an outstanding example, both as a manager and as a tirelessly enthusiastic leader. She is absolutely committed to the output of the Station and the ethos that it requires. In my previous job I have worked for some superb managers and leaders. Very rarely you have a single person who is a great manager and leader. I consider Mel a member of that very select group, Mel always makes herself available be it at the end of a phone or in person to support our decisions and advise accordingly.

I am Proud to have Mel as my mentor, manager and leader, the past 12 months she has gone above and beyond what I would have expected of any Manager/Leader.“
