Said the following about Mark Brown:

“Mark has only been with Southeastern a few years, joining as a Revenue Protection Officer. In that time he has proved his worth and added value to what he does and how he supports the health and wellbeing of his colleagues, passengers and members of the public. He joined the Incident Care Team and has volunteered to support passengers directly impacted by events and incidents on our network. During 2022, Mark started to work directly with me and helped Southeastern established a (TRiM) Trauma Risk Management Programme, in which he is now a Deputy Coordinator. The TRiM Programme went live mid December 2022 and has proved to be highly successful in supporting colleagues who have (or may have) suffered a traumatic experience in the workplace. To date TRiM has supported over 40 colleagues who have been directly affected by witnessing death or attempted suicide, violence in the workplace, racism, sexual assault and other accumulated or vicarious traumas. Mark has been a major asset to the TRiM programme and effectively manages the day to day of the programme, freeing me up to oversee all the entire mental health and wellbeing agenda. Mark provides ongoing support, guidance and safeguarding to the Southeastern TRiM Practitioners.

Moving forward with trauma risk management, Mark is supporting me and collaborating with other industry organisations including Network Rail and TOC’S to establish TRiM Programmes. A future programme of cross-organisation collaboration is being established to provide immediate and direct trauma support to the railway should the need arise.“
