“Leon works at the station carrying out security and customer service patrols during the evening shift. Whilst he was carrying out a route security patrol, Leon was made aware of a male on the station concourse who seemed upset and angry continuously kicking his bag so Leon immediately made his way to his location and approached the male who was sitting on the floor slightly intoxicated holding a sharp metal object in his hand which had come off his bag.
Leon was able to gain the male's trust and keep him calm, he also managed to get the male to hand over the metal object and then open up explaining the bad experiences he has suffered in life which had led him to want to end his life.
Leon remained with the male for approximately 30 minutes keeping him calm until BTP arrived to take over and provide further support for the male.“
