Victoria Mishonova

Said the following about Lee Rappe:

“Lee Raape is an extremely organised and customer focused ticket office clerk. He has been a railway staff for more than 15 years. His extensive and deep knowledge allows him to resolve any issue or problem in the work environment in seconds. He makes sure the Staff Briefs are understood by the rest of the team. Moreover, he sends emails to all colleagues on a weekly basis with updates, important information, interesting facts or jokes. Lee is always prepared to help the team with professional or personal advice irrespective of the time and the day. He never has bad days and bad moods. His can-do attitude inspires everyone.

He is wise and able to find a solution when staff shortages occur. He organises work processes and improves the work environment. Moreover, Lee has incredible and proactive ideas constantly. He is passionate about railway, improvement and perfection.

Apart from being the best ticket office clerk in Enfield area, Lee has many other interests and manages his time efficiently in order to gain more knowledge in computer software and programming. He has always a plan B if plan A doesn't work. Lee has aims and have achieved most of them so far.

The most significant proof that Lee Rappe deserves to be rail person of the year is the fact that the whole team (more than 40 people) are always seeking advice and help from him. Furthermore, he is an amazing friend and secret keeper.

I am proud and lucky to have such a great colleague and friend.“

Samuel Addo

Said the following about Lee Rappe:

“Mr Rappe has for years been the mover of the entire customer services staff of the Enfield Loop area. He assists any staff anytime even from home when he is not on duty.

His customer service skills are excellent and he passes these on to all colleagues. He also initiates training for most entrants in our loop and trains them to meet the required standards of customer services in the railway industry.

He is not a team leader but more than a team leader in that he delivers to the expectation of all staff. When he is on your team on a shift, you are confident the there will be no hitches. He always go the extra mile to assist customers and staff.

In my almost fifteen years on the railways, I have not come across anyone who has given back so much to the customer services in the railway industry.“

Colin Quinn

Said the following about Lee Rappe:

“Lee has been outstanding in helping new staff learn the company policies and developing their ticket office and customer skills. He has welcomed staff brilliantly and interacts with customers fantastically.“

Gary Charles Robinson

Said the following about Lee Rappe:

“I have worked with Lee Rappe for over eight and a half years. He is a team player, professional, customer focused, and is always available to answer any queries other staff members may have. One of his qualities that I admire is how humble he is, not looking for recognition and just gets on with the job. I am very pleased that we have awards like this as I feel sometimes the unsung heroes of our business don't get the recognition that they deserve.

Lee Rappe is one of those individuals who embraces changes within the business and rather than complain he will say "how can this be implemented easily and effectively to ensure all our staff members feel assured with any new changes, sharing information is also one of his greatest assets.

I look forward to working for many more years with Lee.“

Mustak Miah

Said the following about Lee Rappe:

“Lee has given the railway industry years of dedicated service in a polite calm and professional manner.

He is my nominee for rail person of the year“

Philip Sargent

Said the following about Lee Rappe:

“I have worked with Lee for 4 years and during this time have found him to be nothing but helpful. If anyone, anywhere on the area, has a question about anything, Lee not only knows the answer but takes care to explain it carefully and helpfully to them. His knowledge of fares, railway geography and ticket regulations is second to none and he uses this knowledge to help his customers. The customers using Enfield Town station also know Lee and know that he will help them to get the best fare for their journey.

The most notable feature about Lee, however, must be the way that he helps his colleagues to help customers. Lee's role is as a normal ticket office clerk, but he goes the extra mile by providing help sheets for staff members to assist them with more complicated ticketing queries. He also helps his local management team by working with them to make sure that all the ticket offices along the route have enough supplies of stationary, cleaning supplies, etc and will go out of his way to deliver supplies if a station runs short.

For his proactivity and professionalism in helping other members of staff, I nominate Lee.“

Stephen Urch

Said the following about Lee Rappe:

“For many years now Lee and myself have been railway colleagues in the Enfield area and I would love to take this opportunity to nominate Lee for Rail person of the year because I believe him to be Mr Railwayman. His attitude towards working on the railway is first class and his knowledge and understanding of how the railway works is second to none.

He has a natural rapport with the passengers who in turn make our lives easier because of the relationship Lee has built with them over the years.

Lee has a natural ability to lead from the front and unknowingly has taken this responsibility on with all our new employees over the years training everybody and getting them ready for their new roles without hesitation whilst making them feel ready for a new chapter in their own lives by making them feel comfortable whilst training using his own unique methods and training programme, all of this whilst doing his own job and in his own time.

Lee's dedication to the job both at work and also whilst at home makes him a perfect candidate for rail person of the year and will also show him how much we appreciate his hard work and efforts to get us up-to the standard we are today and for this reason Lee receives my nomination.“

Ayse Neville

Said the following about Lee Rappe:

“'Lee Rappe is like the railways Jesus'.

Every time I have a problem I pray that Lee is on shift. Everyone turns to Lee in times of need. He has skills and qualities that are on a different level that he has built up over the number of years he has been on the railway. Lee goes above and beyond to help colleagues with queries and always gives accurate information.“

Lee was the person who trained me and a number of other new starters giving us the right start so when we have to manage on our own eventually we have the knowledge and confidence we needed. I don't know anyone that deserves more than Lee to become the "Rail Person of the Year".“

“Lee is outstanding at his job and always seeks responsibility. He always helps to settle new starters and no problem is ever too big for Lee to come and support.

I doubt there is a single person on our line who Lee has not helped at some point. He does not seek credit either and this award would be a fantastic way of recognising the fantastic work Lee does day in day out.“
