Said the following about Kevin Ryan:

“I would hereby like to nominate, Mr Kevin Ryan for his continued excellence in the delivery of exemplary safety and route briefings as a Leader Driver, for us HSS Driver's in the East region of FGW.

Last year, Kevin was recognised as being a moral leader among us, for his impeccable teachings on safety as Reading Station was remodelled for us Drivers. He picked up 'Colleague of Excellence' in Safety Training 2014 as a direct result.

Now, I am nominating him as his professional training for us all has lead to a safety free record being demonstrated because of his use in concise and clear English to translate briefings to a multi cultural depot. He centres his presentation around a compassionate overtone to ensure our educational wellbeing is meet, as Drivers. I also believe he sets an example to Management locally as well, for his ability to organise himself and foresee deadlines so our route cards do not expire with changed infrastructure layouts.

I'd also like to also offer my personal congratulations for his attention to changing his physique. Having lost 5 stone to date, he can now be more alert when climbing around class 43's to teach one and all, from his wisdom.

When we see rail industry literature for items such as RED in safety briefs, he always comes to my mind. A figurehead of giving, and never asking for anything in return. A true railwayman, in my opinion and I would like you to recognise him nationally.“
