Said the following about Andy Crago:

“Over 25 years ago Andy took up a role as a trainer for British Rail where he designed and delivered various electrical, mechanical and Health & Safety training packages, in that period Andy has advanced in training technique, subjects and locations.

Andy’s has accrued an MSc in Occupational Health, Safety & Environmental Management and a BSc Honours’ Degree in Electronics during his working career, to support his training capability.

Andy’s training in the rail Industry has not just been within the UK, as he has used his knowledge and experience and trained in the Middle East, Far East, Asia, Europe. Including deliver high level post graduate courses in electronics, electrics, hydraulics and pneumatics to students for Indian Railways.

To further pass on his knowledge and experience in Safety Andy runs NEBOSH courses for the General Certificate, Construction and Environmental, both within and outside the Rail Industry, with his passion and dedication for safety he also is an Exam Marker for the subject.

Andy has believed that there should be dedicate centre for training personnel in the on Rail Plant within the Rail Industry. This last year with his determination and commitment he has taken this idea and it has flourished into TXM Training Academy where he is responsible for all aspects of the Rail Training as well as delivering ALO, OTP, Lift Planner and POS Rep training.

His drive has been instrumental in setting up of this dedicate training facility for training of new rail plant operators (RRV Operators). Andy has further developed TXM Rail Academy from a facility capable of academically training subjects such as ALO, OTP, Lift Planner and POS Rep’s, adding and developing the practical training facility that crosses over previously trained civil plant operators to learn the disciplines required to become a trained rail plant operator. Andy is also putting together training packages to develop rail plant operators and engineer apprentices who have not previously had any formal training in those disciplines.

Andy believes in making a difference and within the name TXM, and is always going The Xtra Mile all the time on he is on hand for those that he has trained. He is continuously looking for ways to improve training, although his level of training is always to the highest of standards.

Andy has dedicated more than 25 years of to training within the Rail Industry I believe he is a well deserving candidate to receive the Trainer of the Year Award.“
