Said the following about Kevin Robertshaw:

“Kevin Robertshaw has an outstanding breadth and depth of experience, gained over almost 30 years working in the UK rail industry. He joined the industry in 1989 as a signalling engineer and has worked in multiple roles at varying levels gaining insight across the railway industry to deliver greater efficiency and service to our passengers.

In his early career Kevin undertook roles as an Area Signalling &Telecoms Engineer, as Infrastructure Maintenance Delivery Manager and also as the Head of Engineering for Signalling, Power and Communications. With a clear sense of direction, accountability and passion for the railway and its people, Kevin has been able to move across the different business areas within Network Rail and enjoyed several key leadership roles across Infrastructure Projects, Maintenance and the Route Businesses.

Kevin has most recently held the roles of Route Infrastructure Maintenance Director and Director of Route Asset Management before joining the Infrastructure Projects team as Major Programme Director for Signalling in 2015.

In his current role Kevin has been instrumental in coordinating the delivery of the national signalling renewals programme, including conventional signalling renewals, ETCS and traffic management systems. This has included the delivery of over £1.3bn of renewals and Enhancements including major Signalling schemes at East Kent, North Lincolnshire, Banbury, Bromsgrove and Cardiff, which at over £300m was the largest re - signalling scheme in the history of the UK Railway. Of particular pride to Kevin was that this was achieved with an exemplary safety record which saw his IP Signalling team become the safest delivery team in the whole of Network Rail last year. With a focus and passion for the future, Kevin is also actively supporting and developing the legacy that the signalling technology can bring to the railway and our passengers through the Digital Railway project. His thought leadership has been profiled in this area with his article published in Rail Engineer, March 2016 edition on The Future of Signalling.

Kevin continues to be a critical and extremely valued part of the Network Rail delivery of a better railway for a better Britain believing that engagement and development of our people is the key to achievement and enjoyment at work. He has initiated a number of Leadership and People Management initiatives and continues to be one of the most engaging and approachable Senior Leaders in the railway. His passion, enthusiasm and commitment continue to set an example for us here at Network Rail.“
