Said the following about Colin Clarke:

“Colin has been a highly valued member of the Off Track team for 40 years and retired last week.

For 40 years on the railway Colin has been loyal, hard-working, conscientious and highly-skilled in all areas of his work.

In his experience he has dealt with many significant emergency situations such as flooding in the Maidenhead area, during which Colin had to act quickly to put down sand bags and help the local community as well as safe-guard the track.

Colin was part of a team who are constantly assisting our lineside neighbours and local communities and improving the reputation of Network Rail in the public mind.

The impact of our works can be huge on our neighbours, and Off Track regularly help those who live close to the railway to maintain normality whether it is cutting back vegetation which is encroaching into their garden or fixing a boundary fence that keeps their family safe. Colin was a huge part of this team and will be missed greatly. We could all learn something from Colin, and his dedication and hard-working is certainly worth such an accolade.“
