Said the following about Jaquelene Turner:

“Jackie only joined the conductor team at Wigan in January of this year, after recently working in the airline industry.

We have had numerous new entrants at Wigan this year and along with the more experienced staff all do a fantastic job on board our trains, but since Jackie has joined she has demonstrated to me and some others what the conductor of the future is all about, she is ultra professional in all her actions, with her main focus being the customer,

We receive numerous weekly tweets from our customers regards Jackie about how happy, polite and helpful she is.

One recent incident that needs mentioning is, she was working a train which was commandeered from Liverpool by the BTP and was used to get EDL/ Anti EDL demonstrators away from the city/ station in Liverpool.

After speaking to Jackie about this, we were very impressed with the professionalism shown by her in the handling of the situation.. She ensured the protestors and normal customers were kept away in different carriages, then personally patrolled the carriage with normal customers reassuring them and ensuring there comfort, on arrival of her train at its destination she ensured her normal customers were allowed to disembark first and get away from the area prior to letting the protestors leave the train, all the time thinking her number one prior is our customers.

After the incident she submitted a comprehensive 3 page report detailing the whole event

At the time she said, she was a little taken aback by the noise being created by the protesters but her main concern were “ her Northern customers “ this sentence reflects the type of person that Jacqueline is and in such a short time in the role she is proving to be a valuable asset to the company.

From a very proud management team at Wigan“
