Said the following about ISS Cleaning Services:

“I would like to nominate ISS staff in Cumbria for the Rail Team of the year Award.

The ISS staff are led by Manager Sam Hunt and Supervisor on the ground Mike Langhorn, they work tirelessly with their teams to ensure all stations in Cumbria are cleaned to very high standard for the safety of our staff and customers. Cumbria has a small team of ISS workers as opposed to other areas and geographically it can be very challenging and the weather can also be a challenge for many months of the year.

The professionalism of this team should not go unnoticed as they are what I call our ‘unsung heroes’, as what they do can go completely unnoticed but without them, we would be putting Northern Staff and Customers at stations at risk of possible accidents and or false information if posters are not in date and stations are not cleaned to a high standard.

They always go above and beyond what other support services have done and they have become a most reliable, trustworthy and hardworking team who even during the hardest and busiest times have helped and supported the Cumbria area and they do this on a day to day basis, from the mobile teams to the static teams with both stepping out of the box to ensure the extremely high standards in the area and making safe for all staff and customers alike. Their standard of work was already high and to be able to step up during busy periods is a credit to them.

I am extremely proud and fortunate to have such a team at my disposal and to provide such an amazing service.“
