Said the following about Barrow Customer Service Team:

““I would like to nominate the Customer Service Team from Barrow in Furness Station who have worked above and beyond during some exceptional and crisis situations during day to day works and have all done so with immense professionalism and commitment.

These staff are in the forefront of our customer enquiries /complaints and in many cases of abuse. Each and every one of them deal with each day on its own merit and they have to make instant decisions sometime out of there remit to keep our customers on the move either by taxis or replacement bus services during disruption. There professionalism shines through during these exceptional and difficult times and I am proud of all of them coming together as a team and dealing with issues way beyond what is expected of them.

Each day brings new issues and scenarios for them to deal with and I can honestly say that each day they continue to help and assist each other and our customers always keeping professional and delivering the excellent customer service whilst still doing their day job to which I must say has been to an exceptionally high standard. They have pulled together through recent staff shortages and news of a reorganisation, which has brought its own unique issues and they have safely dealt with all that each day can bring at Barrow in Furness. This Barrow Customer Service Team have proved that team work even under exceptional conditions brings together great camaraderie and I have never been as proud as when I am working with this team seeing them deliver such excellent customer service under difficult circumstances and without complaint, there commitment to the service of our customers and the company should not go unnoticed and I would like to nominate all of them for Rail Team of the Year Award as recognition of their efforts and the pride I have in all of them.“
