Said the following about David Jenkinson:

“Dave has become part of a small but dedicated team, integral in operational planning and delivery of a series of charter trains which have, to date, raised £250k for Martin House Children's Hospice in Wetherby, where industry colleagues are amongst the families it has supported over the years. Dave has an infectious enthusiasm and a huge pride in the product DB Cargo provide, and has encouraged his pool of drivers and ground staff to go the extra mile and more to support these endeavours. He is warm and engaging, and we can attest to multiple occasions where nothing is too much trouble, where he has given up his own time to join planning calls, to cajole and engage senior leaders in his organisation to provide some fantastic events, unsurpassed in the modern railway. Added to this, when things go awry, which they do on such complex jobs, he is always a solution provider within his professional operations capacity and simply put, without him, the charter team would be by far the poorer, and the events we have been able to deliver to maximise the funds raised would not have been so successful.“

Said the following about David Jenkinson:

“Dave Jenkinson is the personification of a professional railway person. His enthusiasm to deliver a customer focused outcome is second to none within the local area and he will always go above and beyond to achieve the best outcome for the customer and the rail freight industry, taking safety and delivery into account.

I have dealt with Dave for many years and his attitude to delivering safe, efficient and customer focused outcomes has never wavered seeing him put himself out time and time again to deliver for his customers. He will always stay until the job is completed, even if it is by working way beyond his allocated hours.

His positive attitude is infectious and translates to the drivers and ground staff in his team wanting to go the extra mile on his behalf as well.

He will always challenge in the right place when it is the right thing to do for the customer.

Dave has also become an integral part of a small team that plans and delivers charity rail charters, providing funds to a local children's hospice over the last 4 years - his efforts and attitude have been absolutely vital to our ability to provide over £250,000 to the hospice. He is warm and engaging and has proved on multiple occasions that nothing is too much trouble, where he has given up his own time to join planning calls, to cajole and engage senior leaders in his organization to provide some fantastic events, unsurpassed in the modern railway. Added to this, when things go awry, which they do on such complex jobs, he has always worked to provide the optimum solution within his professional operations capacity.“
