He trained himself as an Electrical Control Room Operator (ECRO) so that he could help manage the complex electrification monitoring system at Thames Valley Control Centre in Wales and the Western region. He acted as a night time ECRO playing his part in running an efficient shift pattern. Dave prioritised keeping the railway running over personal life, demonstrating strong customer driven behaviour.“
