Said the following about Darren Evans **HAS LEFT**:

“Darren has been with TES 2000 for 3 years and over that time he has tirelessly worked on improving safety performance across all areas of the business and different departments. Starting as a Safety Advisor from a construction background he has quickly learned the Rail industry and demonstrated a real passion for engagement and the ongoing coaching of staff and management in safe working practices.

These attributes and passion were recognised earlier this year when he was promoted to a newly created post within the SHEQ team as a Behavioural Safety Specialist, since then he has taken the lead in the business delivering safety training which includes the Close Call Champion training course, originally developed by the Track Safety Alliance (TSA), facilitating and delivering Town Hall briefings and the introduction of Safety Action Groups across the business.

Darren was recognised earlier this year by Steve Featherstone (Programme Director Track at Network Rail) at the Track Safety Alliance’s Staff Safety Reps Conference where he was awarded the first Close Call Champion Train the Trainer Award. This training and coaching helps front line staff report unsafe conditions and unsafe acts, therefore ensuring that everyone goes home safe every day.

Outside of work Darren is keen to support rail initiatives such as Level Crossing Awareness in the local community, the British Legion Poppy appeal which he coordinates each year and is a Combat Medical Technician in the British Army Reserve.“
