“Wendy has been an invaluable presence at Hassocks station for a considerable time. She made sure that the ticket office ran smoothly throughout the station's refurbishment and during this time, she endured some pretty terrible conditions in the temporary ticket office!
Wendy has terrific patience and she deals with customers with friendliness and professionalism. She carries out all of her station duties brilliantly and is unfazed by stressed-out customers and extremely sensitive to the needs of the disabled passengers who use the station regularly.
Wendy is extremely efficient during the morning rush hour and always does her best to solve passengers' problems calmly. It is a pleasure to see her early in the morning and feel that the morning commute has begun on a good footing.
The train service from Hassocks has been extremely poor at times this year, but Wendy has kept her cool admirably in the face of frustrated rail users. She is a consummate professional and her years of sterling service should be recognised.“
“Absolutely overjoyed to attend the Rail Media RailStaff awards last night. It was a wonderful event full of theatrics, great presentations and laughter. To top it off, of all the finalists, WR/RIA EDI Charter for Rail won Highly commended, alongside the fantastic Shane Andrews MBE in the HR, Diversity and Inclusion Person or team award! So so proud!! This working group truly is an inspirational space and being Vice-chair of such a dynamic group is an honour in itself.
