Said the following about Tina Cator:

“Tina has been a tremendous ambassador for VolkerRail and has been a real advocate of young people looking to join the industry or looking to develop within it. Whether it was supporting the National College for High Speed Rail bid or providing the structure and the support for VolkerRail Apprentices to present at National Conferences we here at Business Doncaster have always relied upon Tina. Tina has always gone the ‘extra mile’ to ensure that anything she is involved in is well organised and highly professional and portrays VolkerRail as an exemplar business. Her support of young people has been particularly strong including supporting events such as Teentech and the Big Bang and demonstrating how Volker Rail is investing in the future of its workforce. We have learnt a lot from Tina in how to promote your organisation in reality not just in words albeit she has a real skill with words too.“

Said the following about Tina Cator:

“If Tina could work every hour of the day, she would! I've known Tina for almost four years, during which time she has shown an unwavering commitment to VolkerRail.

Always prepared with a car full of PPE, Tina won't hesitate to travel up and down the country to be wherever she's needed most.

She puts her heart and soul into everything she's involved with, ensuring every job is a job well done.

Using her keen analytical mind, she ensures her communications are strategic and impactful, dissecting content to tell engaging stories that will resonate with her audience.

Tina also has a real hunger to learn, and her knowledge of the rail industry would impress even the most seasoned of engineers.

I have no doubt that her solid work ethic and passion for what she does will mean great things in her future; she's definitely on the right track.“

Simon Gallagher

Said the following about Tina Cator:

“Tina has helped one of the UK’s largest construction companies develop and expand its communication department from a team of three to a team of nine.

Although part of the groups wider communications team Tina maintains all internal and external communication for its major multi-disciplinary railway company, pushing the importance of communications and changing the mind step of how the business see comms.

Tina has embedded the need for internal communication across the business, which has been no easy task with over 700 employees based across different projects, sites and offices all working different hours and with different levels of industry understanding; all through different communication formats.

Staff believe that one of the key reasons they feel part of a family at VolkerRail is down to Tina’s active promotion of individual, team and project success, whether site or office based.

To take this further Tina also developed the group’s internal awards scheme. For the last four years Tina has managed all aspects of this scheme, promoting the importance of staff recognition and actively encouraging people to nominate. Year after year more and more staff get involved, with new categories being added to accommodate the vast array of award entries.

It is not just about internal communication. Tina actively promotes the business through the development and management of its website, has led the group in social media communication, specifically for recruitment and into more visual communications tools, with the creation of corporate videos, as well as expanding VolkerRail’s presence within trade press. Tina ensures that the right external messages are sent at the right time and in the right way. This has helped the tendering department but also won the business recognition, with VolkerRail receiving some of the industry’s highest accolades year on year.

Tina also aspires for communication of VolkerRail to go beyond the company profile and has taken external communication to the next level, expanding into the railway industry through regular engagement with different industry organisations to help promote the development of key campaign, projects and innovation such as Women in Rail, STEM, Rail Safety Week and Engineering. Tina also champions the promotion of the rail industry to the young, ensuring VolkerRail actively engages in multiple events and school visits across the UK.

Tina’s dedication to the role is commendable as to her hunger for training and knowledge attainment to make sure she is on top of the latest trends and communication tools. Tina also passes her knowledge onto the ever expanding communications teams, providing mentoring and training to those new to communications but also offering support and ideas in meetings and calls.

Tina has now taken a further step in her career and on top of her current role also manages communications for one of the company’s largest multi-million pound projects. Already creating the projects brand and internal communications model which will be used for years to come.

All of this Tina has done with a smile on her face. If you cut Tina in two she would bleed the company, she is a fountain of knowledge and has become one of the most dedication and most trusted members of the business.“

Roberts Wish List

Said the following about Tina Cator:

“Tina’s imaginative mind-set has allowed me to promote and share informative news on a young individual who suffers from a life altering heart condition.

Tina took this project on out of her work hours to help us channel the messages we wish to promote via the social media channels available to us.

Her passion for this project, combined with her drive and knowledge of social media allowed us to not only reach the audience we first aimed for but also pushed our message out to people, groups and organisations we never thought of.

Although just a small project for Tina we wouldn’t have been able to reach out the way we have without her.

I for one believe she epitomises the personally a marketing and communications persons needs to succeed.“
