Said the following about Tim Wright:

“Tim is due to retire at the end of 2023 after completing over 40 years of service in the industry. He has been a Driver Trainer since 2007 and has trained well over 100 Trainee Drivers during that time, meaning that he is well known and respected across not only North Wales but also the whole of our TOC and indeed the industry. Prior to working as a Trainer, Tim spent 10 years as a Driver Instructor and completed other roles in the industry, building up an incredible wealth of knowledge.

It’s difficult to put an exact figure on the total number of people that he’s trained in some form over those years but given that he has run numerous traction conversions and training updates in that time, you’d be hard pressed to find a TFW Driver that hasn’t been trained by Tim or doesn’t know him.

Our training team in Chester has grown hugely over the last few years and since I joined the team, Tim has been nothing but welcoming and helpful from the very start. He’ll quite happily do all that he can to help people learn new information and has put in a lot of time and effort over and above the basic requirements, to make sure that all the necessary arrangements are in place. Even though our methods, knowledge, and experience levels are vastly different, he’s done nothing but be respectful and helpful to me since I joined the team, and I’m very grateful.

Tim has a wealth of knowledge about the industry and every subject that he delivers; he has created numerous training packages from scratch, and even though it’ll soon be time for him to put his feet up, his influence will undoubtedly live on for many years to come.

Tim’s enjoyed a brilliant career and has had an influence on of hundreds of other people; I believe him to be very highly deserving of an award to celebrate his retirement.

Thanks Tim, enjoy your retirement!“
