“Steve is a Duty Station Manager at Heathrow Express, he was acting as a break relief for the other Station Manager at T4, T5, CTA and Paddington. On his return to Paddington the train was stop short of its arrival at CTA. The Train Driver was investigating the issue, Steve made himself known to Control and gave support to the new on board staffs and the customers while on a stand. No decision was taken to detrain via the tunnel route but after 1hr the decision was made. In liaising with Control and the Train driver, Steve was able to manually open the door to evacuate the passengers. A survival centre was set up at CTA station with the support of Duty Station Manager Kevin Hunt and Duty Operation Manager Andy Boyd. Steve then brought the passengers to the room equipped with water and food. The station team then took the time to ask the passenger description of their bags in order to get the bags delivered to the passenger destination. Really well done Steve and Kevin for delivering an outstanding customer service in such a challenging situation.“
