Dave Allwright

Said the following about SouthEast Ops Techs:

“My name is Dave Allwright Section manager for Kent ops telecoms .

I have a team of staff ranging from Radio who deliver GSMR / CSR equipment, Ops Techs that deal with all transmission from legacy to FTN and, not to be forgotten, Cable Jointers who although sit in the back ground deliver extreme amount of Capex but are there when emergencies occur and day to day faulting!

Within Kent we have been hit with cable thefts which when stopped the running of trains worked together days /nights pulling cables out to replace stolen and getting circuits with operational equipment back into service, staff were committed to delivering the network back to Signals (equipment running over them) offices ETD lines to run there business and to high level users such as Signal operational boxes .

Major changes in telecoms with the new signal boxes /Gillingham Rock/ London Bridge Thames link / Dover sea wall to name but a few through projects we are delivering through hard work committed staff we deliver in a safe manner in a demanding industry that is changing to a Digital railway!

Team spirit, knowledge, working together as a team across the disciplines to deliver to our (customers). Faulting and maintaining equipment that's lets say temperamental to say the least in a safe and professional manner days normal working hours nights through callouts weekends Christmas day Bank holidays (wife saying when you coming Home ) My staff are married to Network Rail and without Technicians like mine who, at the drop of a hat, travel from London Bridge across to Sevenoaks down to Pevensey, We deliver support to a vast area with major amounts of passengers /track /offices /buildings.

TELECOMS yes we are a group with in Network Rail, in the background maybe silent but a force to be reckoned with .“
