“Simon has been an excellent manager to me in the last 2 years guiding me through my on going competence development and helping me through some bad domestic times. A credit to the company.“

Graham Pritchett

Said the following about Simon Cassidy:

“Simon Cassidy is an exemplary manager and that is why I wish to nominate him. His leadership skills for his colleagues' and team members at St Philips Marsh depot show a considerable level of interest and support. When approached with a problem or issues, Simon is thoughtful and above all professional and sympathetic.

Safety is obviously paramount in our workplace and Simon's attention to detail in these matters is an example to us all! His compassion comes to the fore in his charitable works where he has led the team in supporting a small North Somerset charity - Springboard (for children with disabilities). His interest and enthusiasm has been infectious and everyone has been keen to get on board under Simon's leadership. Events masterminded by Simon include Santa Specials. a depot open day and the re-liverying of a train in the charity's livery. It is a stunning achievement and could not have happened without Simon's single minded efforts.“

Brian Storie

Said the following about Simon Cassidy:

“Since arriving as depot manager Simon has made a huge difference to the attitude of the staff and made coming to work a pleasure. He has made positive changes and included everyone. It is much easier to deal with someone who listens and takes action if necessary.

He has gone beyond what is required of any manager, helping to secure funding for a colleagues eye operation was exceptional and something which he did not have to get involved with.

From a personal point of view I have had many dealings with Simon and he has helped mediate several meetings I have been involved with and given advice when required.

Since his arrival I have gained promotion which I probably wouldn't have applied for had he not been my direct line manager.

I feel he is exactly the type of manager the company should be looking to recruit in the future as he gets the best out the staff because he has managed to be respected and approachable which is a very difficult combination to achieve.“

Robert Archibald

Said the following about Simon Cassidy:

“Simon Cassidy has the ability to get a difficult job done his attitude dedication, loyalty is exceptional. As depot manager he has had foresight to implement some excellent safety procedures that will benefit us now and the future

From a personal point I would like to thank Simon for the help he gave me when I developed a problem with my eyes obviously this was a strain on me and my family, from the moment I rang Simon he made me feel positive and within two days had arranged with the company for me to see a consultant and secure funding for the operation that got me back to work.

I can honestly say in my 31 years as a train driver Simon's honesty, fairness and professionalism is exemplary“
