“Seb joined our team in 2022 as a graduate and has made a huge impact so far in his short time with us. In his graduate year Seb supported our Train Presentation team on several projects, applying his keen economic mind to the challenges of our business.
In particular, Seb has taken charge of developing an industry-leading app, which is helping deliver a plan-led approach to our daily basic cleans. Through the app our train presentation teams who work in stations can see a clear arrivals board of trains coming into their station, alongside a real-time record of when the train was last cleaned, and how long the train dwells in the station. This data helps our team leaders, and the train presentation operatives, make good evidence-based decisions on where they can be most effective. This piece of work led Northern to be named as finalists in the Chartered Institute of Logistics Awards, in the Operations Management category.
Following his success during his graduate year, Seb secured a promotion into the role of Train Presentation Regional Manager for our East Region. Seb line-manages around 150 colleagues who work out of multiple locations across the region, carrying out basic and deep clean activities day and night.“
