Kirk Taylor

Said the following about Richard Errington:

“Richard joined Stobart Rail during 2008 and has progressed from Maintenance Engineer to Workshop Foreman and then on to become Maintenance and Innovation Manager.

Richard has led a whole host of process and engineering improvements. These have included the development of a maintenance management and scheduling system, the standardisation of OEM details, data and machine make up. The development of the in-house upgrade and heavy engineering fleet improvements has complemented the daily high quality preventative maintenance schedules. The outcome of these engineering led initiatives and diligence of delivery has seen Stobart Rail Plant attain the best levels of RRV Reliability in the country. This has been a sustained and consistent position for the past year.

The drive, commitment, skill and dedication shown by Richard has been a major factor in the success of Stobart Rail Plant and has also led a whole host of innovations from the development of brand new machinery and attachments to a constant set of fleet improvements that have all supported the very high level of engineering excellence.

Richard spends time with his staff, both qualified and apprentices supporting them and sharing his extensive knowledge. It is this level of continuous improvement that has delivered a consistent and engineering led plant fleet being the most reliable plant assets in the country.

Following a recent visit to Stobart Rail by Lee Green who is the Programme Manager for Plant Performance at Network Rail, he made the following comment;

“Over the past 18 months we have spent time with Stobart Rail and seen their engineering skills and excellence really develop. The lead for the high level of engineering diligence and improvements has been based around the strategy and implementation by Richard and supported by an excellent team.”“
