Said the following about Richard Beadsmoore:

“Richard Beadsmoore joined the Learning & Development (L&D) team in late 2015 and his previous experience was in the construction industry. Richard’s role is within the HR shared service centre, which supports multiple business units within SNC-Lavalin, including our Rail & Transit teams.

Since becoming an SNC-Lavalin employee, Richard has been able to quickly understand the rail sector and the challenges the industry is facing across multiple regions, which is new to his skill set.

Over this time he has:

- Introduced mentoring - within just five weeks of joining

- Implemented the UK Management Award (ILM)

- Created a coaching framework for the UK business

- Revamped the UK induction programme

Richard recently took on a pivotal role supporting the Rail & Transit HR teams around the world, with the 2015 annual performance evaluation process. He created a comprehensive toolkit of materials, including training podcasts.

In addition to these numerous projects, he has strengthened the company’s approach to coaching within the UK. Richard took the opportunity to formalise and assess this, using his previous coaching experiences to advise when requests are made. He always strives to give objective advice and is an ambassador when promoting our 70:20:10 approach to learning. This promotes that 70 % of what employees learn should be on the job, 20% should be through other people and 10% should be on training courses.

This hard work in such a short amount of time has not gone unnoticed, as the Rail & Transit L&D team have now taken accountability for the Infrastructure sector within the wider SNC-Lavalin organisation. Richard has been given the objective to share best practice across a larger part of the business, based upon his successes.

Richard is already known as the “glass half full” guy and gives balanced and considered advice to the HR teams across Rail & Transit. Richard is seen as a trusted advisor across the business. Since joining, Richard’s role has evolved from not only providing advice and guidance on learning but also talent management. He is about to take a leading role in the 2016 talent review process.

In Richard's short time as an SNC-Lavalin employee, he has ensured excellent internal client service, as well as aligning his thinking towards exceptional employee engagement to drive business performance.“
