Said the following about Rebecca Sammers:

“Rebecca witnessed a cardiac arrest at Cardiff Central station and recognised this emergency situation and knew exactly what she needed to do. Rebecca went above the normal call of duty, instantly began CPR, got someone to call the 999 and called for a defib whilst taken instruction from the ambulance service she continued until help arrived. Rebecca provided lifesaving CPR using training she had received previously, and was able to resuscitate the individual on the platform. Feedback we received from medical professionals following the incident said that without her intervention, it is likely the individual would have died. Rebecca provided lifesaving aid above and beyond the call of duty.

Rebecca recently attended a CPR/Defib awareness session held by Save a Life Cymru for TFW and shared her story with us and fully engaged with the session. HUGE well done Rebecca you gave that passenger the best chance of survival in the actions you performed that day. You stepped up and helped that passenger in what was a lifesaving moment we are very proud of your actions and you deserve all the recognition you receive.“
