“Brian and Ben were on duty and received a call in relation to a concern for the welfare of a female near the station. The description provided was related to a known female from a previous incident at the station earlier in the year.
On route to the station, the team turned onto a road to check the bridge on route to the station. Fortuitously, by taking this route they found the female hanging over the brick bridge with a member of the public holding on to her. With the incident in progress, they wasted no time and immediately stopped the vehicle on the road rushed to pull the individual to safety and secured her inside the Emergency Intervention Unit vehicle. Brian and Ben’s quick actions not only saved someone's life, but also minimised the disruption to the operational railway.“
