“People in crisis or those intent on harming themselves are unfortunately a sad reality on the rail network. Having the confidence and courage to be able to act selflessly and help in one of these situations is commendable.
The Rail Enforcement officers at TL/GN do exactly that. This year so far, the Teams have made 15 Lifesaving Interventions whilst out on the network. These have varied from talking and listening, to the extreme of restraint within seconds of a high-speed service.
The compassion shown by them is outstanding, and all will humbly say that making a difference and saving someone’s life is the most rewarding thing they can do.“
