“Rafiq is our railway Chaplain, and visits National Express Midland Metro
on a program off visits throughout the year.
He is a lovely genuine, and caring man. Always very polite and courteous, Rafiq tours the Depot and workshops meeting and greeting staff from all walks of life and departments.
Rafiq also travels out on the Metro when he visits the system. Boarding trams and chatting to Conductors and Drivers when they have time at the termini before setting off.
I was very kindly invited (along with our Operations Manager Paul Barefoot to celebrate Rafiq's achievement in reaching 40 years in the Rail industry, and this nomination now is not only in support of his overall achievement but to recognise the fact that he continues to inspire and encourage people to give of their best and to celebrate life itself as a wonderful thing.
