Glen Merryman

Said the following about Rafael Carneiro:

“On the 23rd June 2017 Driver Robert Knevett collapsed on Platform 14 in the afternoon at London Victoria Perry was at Victoria and went to deal with the situation. Rafael was on call and early manager, Rafael made his way from London Bridge to help assist with the situation. Robert was taken to hospital and we were struggling to locate Rob's wife. Rafael managed to find the hospital she worked at and get her contacted he also accompanied Rob to the hospital and stayed late that evening until his wife arrived.

Rafael then stayed with Rob's wife for an hour to ensure they were both ok. Rafael was early turn the next say (Saturday) and went back to the hospital to sit with Rob and brought him some chocolates and water. Perry was late turn and on call and also went to hospital, relived Rafael and sat with Rob again until wife arrived.

Upon Rob's return to work he raised that he was overwhelmed by the support he has received from both Rafael and Perry, that they were both genuine and kind toward him and his wife. He was in pain and scared and without these two managers he would have been a lot worse than he was as just having someone there with him made him feel better. I think both these managers need commending for their actions during the incident and care showed the day after.“
