“Phil is a hard working skilled Track Design Engineer whose positive attitude, leadership and enthusiasm motivates his team & work colleagues to rise to difficult time constrained challenges. Whilst doing this Phil makes time to speak to all team members individually on a daily basis advising and giving assistance where required. Phil has fronted up the Birmingham design office and has mentored & supported designers to raise the quality of the office output significantly.

Phil's duties include liaison with a number of different clients and his collaboration has led to good close working relationships with further work being offered directly to the Birmingham Team.

Phil regularly acts in the Contractor's Engineering Manager & Contractor's Responsible Engineer role and did so for the Banbury Re-signalling project. This project was carried out on an extremely tight programme, due to late confirmation of enhancements. Phil's ability to work under immense pressure and initiative was instrumental in completing the project to budget and timescale.

Phil's positive contribution to the Birmingham team is instrumental in making the environment a happy and inclusive place to work. Successful projects include Scotland GRIP3 design development, East Kent Line Speed improvements, Banbury GRIP 3, 4 &5, Galton Junction GRIP 4&5, West Coast Mainline Line Speed improvements“
