“Niki is a Customer Service Assistant at Stockport, for the last 6 years he has organised a Rail Day at Stockport. He works really hard to organise this event every year and any monies raised he splits between lots of different charities. this year he raised about £300.
Part of the Rail Day involves opening the station up to all, having stalls with lots of memorabilia of the Railways, artists, miniature railway set up, old buses, loco for everyone to go and have a look at, local small businesses with stalls of their products align the subway. It is a real Family day out which is very popular. The Major of Stockport also pays a visit and it has featured in the Rail News.
The Stockport team all support Niki and keep the station operating safely whilst the Rail Day is on.
I think Niki deserves nominating for this award as he gives so much and is passionate about our industry.“
“I just wanted to say a personal thank you to you and your excellent team! I was really pleased to be awarded the Highly Commended award on Saturday night and can't thank you all enough. I have really been grateful for your backing and have been heavily supported by everyone at Rail-Media during my first year of trading and this topped it off. I was very proud to receive the nomination and making the top three was incredible, I believe strongly that this is down to the team I have around me in advance-TRS but also the external teams such as Rail Media that have offered me advice and direction whenever called upon.
