Said the following about Morton Alex Sam and James Carroll Powell Edser and Smedley:

“On the 7th of July 2023, Officers, Sam Edser, Morton Carroll, James Smedley and Alex Powell were patrolling Brighton Railway Station a member of the public approached them and was concerned as he believed he had been spiked whilst drinking in The Queens Head pub.

Initially he came across slightly inebriated but was able to converse well and stand.

He had already reported the incident to SUSSEX POLICE prior to arriving at the train station but officers had not yet attended.

Approximately 5 minutes after they began to speak with the male he said he started to feel faint, and was moved and sat down on the floor.

Almost instantly he began convulsing and struggling to breathe. He lost the ability to speak, and came out in a cold clammy sweat. An emergency ambulance was called.

During the time they were awaiting the ambulance the male had over 20 convulsions/fits. Whilst convulsing his whole body tensed up and it took 3 officers to keep him from harming himself and banging his head on the floor.

They spoke with the paramedics and the police officer who advised that this reaction was similar to a number of recent incidents in BRIGHTON whereby victims have been spiked, via vape - with substances such as vaporised LSD or synthetic marijuana (also known as spice) being used.

Everyone involved acted with professionally and attentively to the male ensuring he was given the best possible care and attention. Sam, Alex, James and Morton acted safely and carefully throughout.“
