“For going that extra mile.When a colleage sadly died at Leeds station,Martin contacted Leeds Booking Office Manager,Pat.He put himself forward to cover for any staff member who wished to go to
the funeral.
Martin and myself had, previously, both worked at Leeds,as cover for 6 months.We both new the staff member,Chris,well.
It was a really nice gesture.Pat accepted the offer,and as I had also offered,we both ended up going back to Leeds for the day.
It was also lovely to see all the other great staff at Leeds,again.“
“Thank you for another fantastic RailStaff Awards event. As usual, the attention to detail was perfect, and all aspects of the evening were perfect. We had 23 GWR colleagues attending, and all couldn't stop talking about how magical the experience was. Their Facebook feeds are very busy this morning with lots of photos! We were privileged to secure a win for Rail Person of the Year (Pete White) and a highly commend in the Samaritans Life Saver Award (Nathan Stockman), and also have the opportunity to sponsor and hand over an award (Rail Manager of the Year).
