“Marie is a hardworking, customer focused member of the team in Glasgow Central Travel Centre. She treats customers with great respect, patience and empathy and will seek to find a solution to whatever problem she is faced with.
She recently organised a primary school visit to Glasgow Central for the 7th June and pulled together VTWC, Network Rail, ScotRail and the BTP in doing so. She did most of the organising in her own time, and also pulled the VT Team together to organise goody bags, Pendolino tour (announcements/ find a seat, drivers cab) and also talked one of the team into dressing up as Sammy the Safety Bear! The BTP showed the children inside the Police Van and spoke to them about their roles and responsibilities. Network Rail presented a talk on Glasgow Central and Rail Safety. Scotrail provided travel to/from the station. This resulted in a fun and educating day for the children and they talked nonstop about it afterwards with the teachers. This visit was for our rail customers of the future and not only did they get to see how the businesses operate, they also had a great fun day too.
In addition to all this, Marie gets regular praise from customers and colleagues on our internal recognition portal.
She is always thinking about how we can do more as a business for customers and community.“
