“I was contacted regarding a child in foster care who has a huge interest in trains and Greater Anglia, to see if there was anything we could do for his birthday. I asked Lynda if she would chaperone the visit during her shift, which she readily agreed too
Along with one of her colleagues, she set to planning a memorable day for them. She took him to visit three stations in our area, to speak to different staff to find out what a day in the life as an employee is like. She also helped create him a folder of train pictures from her colleagues private collection, sourced him a name card, lanyard, branded goodies as presents and then finished the day with a surprise birthday party with food at the final station, that she took the time to source and cook in her free time, this also included a birthday cake, baked by another colleague“
