“Louise pulled out all the stops to see through the launch and introduction of a new service from East Riding town Beverley to London Kings Cross – an example of how the team at First Hull Trains is able to go the extra mile to improve transport links in the communities that we serve.

Beverley station has never had a direct link to London, despite a growing desire for the service from residents. The successful introduction of the service was welcomed whole-heartedly by local people and will bring direct travel benefits to passengers from right across the region as far as Scarborough and North Yorkshire.

Louise worked out of hours and tirelessly to ensure track access was granted.

East Riding Council leader Stephen Parnaby said: “The direct service is a major coup for Beverley and the wider East Riding and will hopefully be a popular investment, supporting local tourism and creating opportunities for future business success.”

East Riding of Yorkshire Ward Councillor, David Elvidge said, “This is really great news that residents of Beverley will be able to enjoy a direct train service to London. Many people need to get to the Capital for business and people also like to travel to the City for short breaks. Perhaps the most obvious benefit of this new service is the boost it will bring to tourism, allowing people to escape from London to enjoy a weekend in Beverley.”
