The RailStaff Awards 2024

Said the following about Leeanne Dunko:

“Leeanne is a complete superstar, and flies the flag for Equality, Diversity & Inclusion at ScotRail.

Leeanne is a fantastic asset to team ScotRail, and regularly builds engagement with frontline staff by working with frontline managers and the occupational health/wider HR teams to host employee roadshows.

These roadshows offer staff the opportunity to find out more information about ScotRail policies and procedures, find out more about the network groups that ScotRail has for its employees, and also give staff a chance to have their blood pressure checked/query some health issues with our Occupational Health team.

In addition to the above, Leeanne has been instrumental in the supporting of the employee networks in ScotRail. ScotRail has a number of employee networks (including Inspire, Pride of ScotRail, Cultural Fusion and ACE to name a few). Leeanne always attends all employee network meetings, and is always on hand to support the networks where required.

Leeanne is passionate about making ScotRail a more inclusive and diverse place to work for everyone, and that really shows in her day to day work. Even in her days off, Leeanne is doing her bit to support Equality, Diversity & Inclusion here at team ScotRail, whether that is attending Pride marches or volunteering on the frontline and listening to staff feedback about ED&I matters.

Over the last few years, Leeanne has helped establish new employee networks, assisted in the establishment of the diversity and inclusion steering group and has single handedly empowered other colleagues to take the lead on ED&I issues in their part of the business. ScotRail is now an accredited 'Leader in Diversity', and this fantastic award would not have been possible without all of Leeanne's efforts.

In addition to the above, Leeanne also regularly supports managers from across the business on advice around Equality, Diversity & Inclusion issues. She is regularly in touch with frontline managers from across the business and is a great sounding board for them on how everyone can do their bit to make ScotRail a more equal and diverse place to work.

Leeanne always sings the praises of others, and I think it's important that she gets recognised for all of her own efforts too.

Good luck Leeanne! :)“
